Privacy notice

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use Report My Rent, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.

The short version

1. Who we are

Report My Rent is a trading name of Wollit Ltd ("Wollit", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 10687003, with its registered office at 35 Ballards Lane, London N3 1XW. Wollit is the controller of your personal information, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for protecting it. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZA554988.

Report My Rent uses Wollit's own systems to connect your bank and report your rent. Your Report My Rent account is separate from the Wollit app: signing up to one does not sign you up to the other.

For any question about your information, or to use your rights, email [email protected].

2. The information we collect

Information you give us

Information from your bank, through TrueLayer

With your consent, TrueLayer gives us read only access to the account you pay your rent from: the account holder's name, the account number and sort code, and your transactions, including their descriptions, amounts and dates. We never see your bank login details, and we cannot move money.

Information from Stripe, our payment provider

Whether your payment worked, your card type, the last four digits and expiry date of your card, and your billing address. Stripe holds your full card details; we never see them.

Information from the credit reference agencies

Any errors Experian, Equifax and TransUnion send back about the rent we report.

Information collected when you use the website

4. Finding your rent automatically

Our systems look through your transactions automatically to find payments that look like rent. You then confirm which one is your rent. We do not make any decision about you, such as whether to give you credit, by automated means. If you think our systems got something wrong, contact us and a person will review it.

5. Reporting to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion

Each month, we send your name, date of birth, address, tenancy details and your eligible rent payments to Experian, through the Experian Rental Exchange, and to Equifax and TransUnion, in line with the rules Experian, Equifax and TransUnion set. We report it under Wollit's name, as the company that supplies the information. We only report rent payments we find in your bank account. A month we can't report may show on your credit file as a month without a rent payment.

Once they receive it, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion are each a separate controller of that information. They add it to your credit file and share it with lenders and other organisations, who use it to check your identity, prevent fraud and decide whether to lend to you. The agencies normally keep it for six years, including after you cancel your plan. How the agencies use your information is explained in their shared notice, the Credit Reference Agency Information Notice (CRAIN) (also on Equifax's and TransUnion's websites). You can get your credit report from each agency for free.

6. Who we share your information with

7. Information sent outside the UK

Some of the companies above store or process information outside the UK. PostHog keeps our website analytics in the European Union, which the UK recognises as giving the same protection. Stripe, Resend and Google process information in the United States. We make sure it stays protected: either the country is covered by UK adequacy regulations (for the United States, the UK Extension to the EU and US Data Privacy Framework, where the company has signed up to it), or we use the contract clauses approved by the Information Commissioner. Contact us for a copy of the safeguards.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. It is free. We may need to check who you are first. We will reply within one month, or tell you within that month if we need longer.

If you ask us to delete your information, we stop reporting your rent, end your plan and delete what we can. We have to keep some records, such as payment records, for as long as the law requires. The rent we have already reported is held by Experian, Equifax and TransUnion as separate controllers, so to ask about it, contact them directly.

10. Keeping your information safe

We protect your information with encryption when it travels over the internet, limited staff access and regular security checks. We never ask for or store your bank login, and Stripe holds your card details. If something goes wrong that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner when the law requires.
